How this page is made

Every Thursday we read the US top free and top grossing charts on the App Store and Google Play in 5 categories (Games, Finance, Health and fitness, Shopping, Social), the way any visitor to the stores sees them, and compare each chart with the same chart the week before. An app counts as new when it was not in last week’s chart, and as dropped out when it has left this week’s.

Charts move during the day, so this is a weekly snapshot, not a running average. The stores decide what each chart contains and how it is ranked. App names and places are the stores’ own; we don’t copy icons, screenshots or anything about reviewers. locaihost data is not affiliated with Apple or Google.
